My planet needs me.

Trying and failing to get lift from inclines without this happening. It is funny though.

I haven't gotten lift from inclines to work properly yet, but falling off ledges works pretty well now.

Running into stuff is more fun with collision bumps and sparks! The car bump direction is kind of random at the moment. I need to start tracking the car's velocity and use it for things like this.

A huge thank you to Raigan Burns of Metanet Software (N++) for helping me with the wall collision code!

I hooked up the track editor to the car to make it quicker to create tracks, and it's kinda fun :) If I put a track creator in the game, maybe I'll add this option.

Here's a genga-style drawing I made for fun. Genga is a term used in Japanese animation for key frame art, and colors like these are used to show where the shading and highlights should be. I would love to animate an exciting and elaborate intro for this game, but since I'm doing everything else myself (so far) I think that'll be too out-of-scope for me! Too bad.

Below is a time lapse process video. I started off sketching the Derbytown car from memory, and then I remembered I have tiny sprites from the game that I could use for angle reference.

Part way into the video you'll notice that the car has bumps, bandages, and an expression. I was going to use it as a funny illustration next to a gameplay gif showing the car bumping into a bunch of walls, but I didn't like how it was turning out so I drew the car sliding on some dirt instead!
